Press Release: IAM Local 601 Unanimously Endorses Dr. Al Gross for U.S. Senate

ANCHORAGE, AK—Today, the IAM Local 601 union endorsed Independent Dr. Al Gross for US Senate. Since announcing his candidacy for U.S. Senate in 2019, Dr. Al Gross has affirmed his commitment to being a fierce advocate for organized labor and working families in Alaska. Today, IAM Local 601, which represents over 600 Alaska Airlines employees, has unanimously endorsed Gross’ candidacy.  

“Dr. Al took the time to meet with the members personally, adhering to all COVID precautions, to hear our concerns as transportation employees,” said Kiana Peacock, President of IAM Local 601. “We felt with his unique background as a union member and doctor he was the person best suited to represent us tackling the large issues of healthcare and pension protection, two of the many issues extremely important to airline employees and working people.”

Recent decisions handed down by the federal courts have threatened the ability of unions to adequately represent the interests of their members,” said Dr. Al Gross“As Alaska’s next U.S. Senator, I promise you will always have a fierce advocate for organized labor in Washington.
